Langwarrin Quarries is proud to have partnered with The Workwear Group and King Gee as a filming location for their 2025 King Gee Originals campaign.

Seeing our site featured in a campaign celebrating one of Australia's most recognised workwear brands was a fantastic opportunity for our team and a great way to showcase the environment where hard work happens every day.

For 100 years, King Gee has been outfitting Australians across a wide range of industries. Since 1926, the brand has become a familiar name on worksites throughout the country, supporting generations of tradespeople, operators, builders, drivers and workers who keep Australia moving.

The rugged and authentic backdrop of a working quarry made it the perfect setting for the campaign, highlighting the environments where quality workwear is put to the test. We were pleased to welcome the production team on-site and see our operation become part of a campaign that reflects the values shared by both our businesses.

From Quarry to Artwork: How Hundreds of Tonnes of Sand Became a

Frankston Attraction

When most people think about sand, they picture construction projects, landscaping, playgrounds or sporting surfaces. But every year, sand proves it can be much more than a practical building material.

In 2026, the Frankston waterfront hosted the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, where 400 tonnes of sand was transformed into intricate works of art. For the second year running, Langwarrin Quarries were proud sponsors of the event, donating the sand used to create the sculptures and LQ beanies to the first 50 visitors.

Skilled sculptors from Australia and overseas spent days shaping and carving enormous sand structures, creating a temporary exhibition that attracted thousands of visitors to the area.

The event highlights something many people don't realise, sand is an incredibly versatile material. While it plays a vital role in construction, drainage, paving and landscaping projects, it can also be used to create detailed sculptures capable of standing several metres high.

Creating large-scale sand sculptures requires a significant amount of carefully prepared sand. Once compacted, the material becomes strong enough to support detailed carvings, allowing artists to produce everything from towering castles and mythical creatures to intricate decorative features.

For those of us working in the quarry industry, events like this are a reminder of the many different ways natural materials can be used. The same resource that helps build homes, roads and outdoor spaces can also inspire creativity and bring communities together.

The Australian Sand Sculpting Championships have become a popular attraction in the City of Frankston, drawing visitors from across Victoria to experience the impressive craftsmanship on display. In late 2025, the Langwarrin Quarries team had the opportunity to visit Sages Cottage Farm and present our contribution towards an exciting community project currently taking shape on the Mornington Peninsula.

The new sensory garden is being developed to create a welcoming outdoor environment where people can engage with nature, build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences in a safe and accessible setting.

At Langwarrin Quarries, supporting organisations that make a positive difference in our community is something we genuinely value. We are proud to have contributed to a project that will benefit individuals, families and visitors for years to come.

The garden has been carefully planned to encourage exploration, relaxation and social connection. Once complete, it will provide a unique destination where visitors can enjoy a variety of interactive elements designed to stimulate the senses and promote wellbeing.

What makes this project particularly special is the collaborative effort behind it. Community members, clients, staff, designers and supporters have all played a role in helping shape a space that reflects the needs and experiences of those who will use it most.

The finished garden will feature a range of engaging outdoor elements, creating opportunities for people to interact with their surroundings in different ways. Thoughtfully designed seating areas, artistic installations and nature-based experiences will offer places to pause, connect and enjoy the environment at their own pace.
